Emergency Response Plan and Dam Emergency Plan

2025 Emergency Response Plan

The Safe Drinking Water Regulation of the Health Act requires all purveyors of small water systems to have an emergency response plan they can refer to in case of an emergency which might present a threat to the health of people drawing their water from that system. See below for our most recent Emergency Response Plan.

Dam Emergency Plan

All dam owners in BC must have a Dam Emergency Plan (DEP).  The purpose of our DEP is to reduce the risk of human life loss and injury and minimize property damage during an unusual or emergency event at Thulin Lake and Lund Lake. The DEP is updated annually with respect to contact numbers and notifications to ensure this information is current. A more comprehensive review is required every 10 years to assess operating procedures and engineering aspects of the plan. The DEP has been prepared with the intent of meeting the requirements of the Water Sustainability Act, Dam Safety Regulation (Regulation). The dam owner and local, regional and provincial response agencies all play a role in responding to an emergency under the Emergency Program Act.
We submitted our DEP Revision #3 for provincial approval in February 2025. The Dam Safety Branch has not yet reviewed that submission due to a backlog in their office. The link below will access Dam Safety Review Revision #2 2024-02-05, the most recent officially approved plan.
